Scholastic Activities

Aalaya Academy is a school committed to its academic excellence. Positive work habits are nurtured to stimulate problem solving ability in students.

In keeping with the framework drafted by the National Policy of Education, the curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy in our students. The medium of instruction is English and language options are Hindi and Tamil.

A student is introduced to continuous comprehensive assessment ( CCE ) from Grade I which promotes alertness, creativity, application skills and logical reasoning in their regular approach and learning process.

We have two terms each in the academic session:
• Term I – April to September
• Term II – October to March

Learning as an ongoing, wholesome process will be evaluated in a continuous comprehensive manner.

The Comprehensive Assessment Process, will focus on the daily, consistent progress made by the child in academic as well as co-curricular activities.

The assessment procedure will be based on the child’s daily interaction in the class, his/her level of general awareness, the quality of work produced by him/her, internalization of the concepts taught during the course of classroom interaction and the consequent learning outcomes throughout the year.

Proficiency Certificate will be awarded to a student securing an Overall Grade .

Perfect Attendance Certificate will be awarded to the students maintaining 100% attendance throughout the academic session.

Co-Scholastic Activities

Every activity in school life plays a significant role in development of students. Co-Scholastic Activities are an essential part of school life and helps in enhancing learning process of students at school. Co-Scholastic are designed and balanced with academic curriculum so that every student gets to learn beyond subjects.

At Aalaya Co- activities are meant to bring social skills, intellectual skills, Organizational and leadership skills, computer skills, Aptitude skills, literary and creative skills, moral values, personality progress and character appeal in students. It includes athletics, cultural events, Library activities, science lab activities, classroom activities, visual and performing arts, Health and physical education etc.

Extracurricular Activities

Outside the standard framework ofeducational curriculum, there are endless opportunities for students to learn new skills and ignite new passions., Aalaya offers Extracurricular activities like Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Kho-Kho, Athletics, Chess, Keyboard, Karate, Silambam andFine Arts like Carnatic Music, Art & Craft, Western dance, Classical dance, Yoga, etc. so that the children get opportunities to compete and win medals at different level .This gives them a chance to develop their social skills, meet new friends and become more confident communicating in groups. It also aids in the development of self-esteem and confidence.
